Mechanical engineer meets sculptor

As part of the opening concert of the 18th Arnstadt Bach Festival on 07.07.2023, we were not only able to experience new insights into the fascinating world of classical music, but also admire the Bach monument he created together with Prof. Bernd Göbel. The bronze statue on Arnstadt's market square shows the young Bach leaning casually against a milestone and thinking about his next work. Since its inauguration in 1985 to mark the 300th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach's birth, the rather unconventional sculpture has become another of the town's landmarks.
